Description
Overview
The Golden Abbey is our most iconic handcrafted Balinese parasol. Designed with elegant fringe and hand-painted gold details, it brings enduring character to gardens, terraces, and poolside spaces. Each one is made by hand — no two are identical.
Craftsmanship
Each Golden Abbey is handcrafted in Bali using traditional techniques passed down through generations of artisan families. The bamboo structure, hand-carved durian wood pole, and decorative fringe echo the ceremonial umbrellas seen in Balinese temples — objects made not to impress, but to endure.
Materials
Bamboo frame and spokes. Hand-carved durian wood pole. Hand-painted cotton canvas canopy. Cotton fringe with decorative gold tassels.

Assembly
No tools required. Insert the pole into your parasol base and secure with the wooden peg provided. The parasol opens and closes manually via the central runner.
Care
Store indoors or under cover when not in use. Close and secure during strong winds. Wipe the canopy gently with a damp cloth — do not machine wash. The natural patina of the durian wood will deepen beautifully over time.

Why Baliaric Parasols Are Different
Our Balinese parasols are handmade and carefully hand-painted in Bali by skilled artisans, giving every piece its own distinctive character.
Each authentic Baliaric parasol is crafted using traditional techniques preserved for generations. The bamboo structure is woven by hand, decorative fringes are attached individually, and every motif is painted by hand rather than printed by machine.
Because of this meticulous process, no two parasols are ever exactly the same. Subtle variations in each piece reflect the authenticity and artistry of true Balinese craftsmanship.
Orders
European Orders & Dispatch
All our European orders are lovingly prepared and shipped from our base in Spain.
We process your order within two to three working days. Before shipping, every parasol goes through a careful quality check so it leaves our hands exactly as it should — beautiful, solid, and ready for your space.
For destinations within the EU, delivery is free and all taxes and duties are included at checkout — so there are no unpleasant surprises at your door.
For European countries outside the EU (such as the UK, Switzerland or Norway), local import duties or handling fees may be applied by local authorities and are the responsibility of the recipient.
Shipping from Spain allows us to be closer to our European clients, making delivery smoother, simpler, and more personal for you.
Parasol Care
Are they waterproof?
Our parasols are primarily designed to provide shade from the sun, but they can handle an occasional light shower and normal wind conditions.
The Modern Twist collection is made with waterproof fabric, allowing it to withstand rain more easily.
If any parasol becomes wet, we recommend allowing the fabric to dry completely before closing or storing it.
Opening your parasol
Because each parasol is handcrafted in Bali, it may feel a little stiff the first few times you open it. This is completely normal.
Turn the parasol upside down, gently push it towards the ground until it opens fully, then flip it back over and insert it into the base pole, securing it with the peg.
Maintenance
With proper care your parasol will remain beautiful for many years.
Clean the fabric occasionally with mild soap, water and a soft brush or cloth. Many customers also apply a fabric protector such as Scotchgard to help preserve the colours.
Care & Wind Guidance
Our parasols are handcrafted in Bali using traditional techniques.
For longevity, we recommend closing the parasol during strong winds or storms and storing it in its protective cover when not in use for extended periods.
With proper care, the fabric and structure will maintain their beauty for many years.
